Michael Shapiro

I began piano study at the age of five with J. Ruth King, a student of Gabrailovich. I studied at Columbia University with William Beller and at the Julliard School with Rosina Lehvine. . My composition studies were with Otto Luening, one of the pioneers of electronic music I studied conducting with Rudolph Thomas, former conductor of the Metropolitan Opera. I have pursued a career as a concert pianist and have written scores for more than two hundred films and television productions. I was the founder and president of one of the most successful recording studios in NYC, Servisound, Inc. I have taught composition and both piano and organ and am currently organist and choirmaster of The Palisades Presbyterian Church in Palisades, NY. I am also a recording engineer, music producer and audio consultant.
